Our story

Tradition you can touch

Rajasthan has a long tradition of woodwork, from carved doors and haveli windows to temple furniture. Shree Kala continues that tradition with a focus on one thing: beautiful, sturdy pieces for the place where your family prays.

We begin with a simple wooden swing for your deity, and over time we will add more handcrafted items for the home, such as singhasan, chowki, mandir stands and wooden decor.

Each piece is made in small batches so we can pay attention to joints, finish and detail, rather than rushing a large number of pieces.

What you can expect

  • Smooth, safe finish on all edges
  • Strong joinery, with no flimsy parts
  • Traditional patterns and turned pillars
  • Honest communication, with photos before dispatch
  • Help choosing the right size for your deity

Wood care

Keep your jhula beautiful

Wood is a natural material. A little regular care keeps it looking fresh for many years.

  • Dust with a soft, dry cotton cloth, and avoid wet cloths.
  • Keep it away from direct sun and damp walls.
  • Do not use harsh chemical cleaners.
  • Use only light, clean oils or wax polish, a few times a year.
  • Do not overload the seat, and keep ropes and hooks checked.
